David Hood, CPA - Audit Partner
David graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois in 1980 and has been a partner in the firm since 1982. David serves clients in all industries with an emphasis on small business, nonprofit, and governmental fields. David has served as President of the Eastern Chapter of the Illinois CPA Society, PTA-Co-President, President of his Rotary Club Foundation, and President of the Board of Directors of the Champaign County YMCA. David is an active volunteer in the community and currently serves as the District Chair of the Prairie Fire District of the Prairielands Council of the Boy Scouts, Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Champaign County YMCA, and Chair of the Conference Council on Finance and Administration for the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Denise Vilardo Martin, CPA - Audit Partner
Denise obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. Denise has been providing clients with audit, review, compilation and management consulting services since 1984. She serves a variety of clients with a concentration in construction and employee benefit plan services. Denise V. Martin is a Past President of the CICPAC (Construction Industry CPA's/Consultants Association); and is the designated audit partner of the Firm's membership in the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center. Denise is an active member of the Central Illinois Builders Association, the Construction Industry CPA Consultants Association and the ESOP association via a firm membership.
Mitchell R. Schluter, CPA - Audit Partner
Mitch graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois in 1989 and joined the firm in 1990. Mitch has been a partner in the firm since January 2001 and works with a variety of clients with an emphasis in the construction, nonprofit, and governmental industries. He is a member of Central Illinois Builders and CICPAC (Construction Industry CPA's/Consultants Association) and is the designated audit partner of the Firm's membership in the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center. Mitch is a member of the C-U Sunrise Rotary Club and has served as Treasurer of the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club.
Mark E. Czys, CPA - Audit Partner
Mark graduated from Illinois State University in 1994 and has over 15 years of public accounting experience. Prior to joining MHFA in 2006, Mark was with a large, national accounting firm for 12 years. Mark performs a variety of services and specializes in small business consulting as well as providing assurance services to small/middle market sized companies. Mark is also a member of the CICPAC (Construction Industry CPA's/Consultants Association) and the Home Builders Association of East Central Illinois. He is active in several community organizations, which include his membership in the Champaign-Urbana Kiwanis Club and the Board of Directors of the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club.
Greg Douglas, CPA - Audit Manager
Greg is a 1988 graduate with honors from the University of Illinois. He worked in the corporate accounting department of a national mutual funds management company in Chicago for six years prior to working for the State of Illinois Geological Survey in Champaign as an accounting supervisor. Greg has been with MHF&A since October 1996. During his time with the firm, Greg has worked on audits of clients in government, not-for-profit organizations and small businesses.
Kelly Duitsman Loschen, CPA - Audit Manager
Kelly obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. She joined the firm in May of 2000. During her time with the firm Kelly has served clients in many industries, with concentrations in small business, the construction industry, and nonprofit organizations . Kelly is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society and is an active volunteer in the community.
Renee Osterbur, CPA - Audit Supervisor
Renee is a supervisor in the audit department of Martin Hood Friese and Associates, LLC. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and joined Martin Hood Friese and Associates in January of 2002. During her time with the firm , Renee has served clients in many industries including not-for-profit, small business, and employee benefit plans. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, and the ESOP Association. She also serves as Treasurer and Board Member of the Eastern Illinois Foodbank.
Justin Overstreet, CPA - Audit Senior
Justin is a senior in the audit department at Martin, Hood, Friese, & Associates, LLC. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 2006 and joined the firm shortly thereafter. During his time with the firm, Justin has served clients in many industries including construction contractors, small business, and employee benefit plans.
Cynthia Le - Audit Senior
Cynthia is a senior in the audit department at Martin, Hood, Friese & Associates, LLC. She graduated from the University of Illinois in May 2004, with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and obtained a Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois in May of 2005. Cynthia has been with Martin, Hood, Friese & Associates, LLC, since July 2005. During her time with our Firm, Cynthia has worked on audits for government, nonprofit, and small business clients with a concentration on performing federal compliance audits for local governments and nonprofit organizations.
